Bread

  • Why – to supplement other materials that were part of a larger lesson on Health & Nutrition
  • Other – this project was created to add a media-rich, interactive component to an existing online course. Users reported that they enjoyed the videos and interactive pieces of the project and appreciated how it was used with existing materials. The quizzes included in this project can be linked to the grading feature of an LMS using SCORM. Quiz question types available in Rise include multiple choice,  multiple response, fill-in-the-blank, and drag-and-drop.

  • Why – to help learners understand the complex relationships between Indigenous peoples and United States.
  • Other – this presentation looks great on any device. The high quality images are a great compliment to the existing content and users reported how great the entire presentation looked and how helpful the content was. There are many different examples of interactivity presented here including a scenario activity, accordion displays and tabbed features for displaying content.

Breast Cancer Treatment Guide

  • Why – to help patients better understand breast cancer treatment and begin the necessary work of being an informed patient.
  • Other – this responsive presentation looks great on any device. The high quality images are a great compliment to the content. Users that have provided initial feedback have reported how the flip card interaction introducing a number of survivors helped them connect to the material being presented.

  • Who – online students and students in traditional classrooms

  • Wherethis example is online
  • Why – to provide an interactive media-rich presentation that would replace an older PowerPoint presentation.
  • Other – this presentation looks great on desktop computers, laptops, tablets and handheld devices. The high quality images are a great compliment to the existing content and users reported how great the entire presentation looked. The *Choose My Plate* section includes a labeled graphic that allows the user to decide what  content to explore [these markers can also hold video content].  A full-width video was also used and displays flawlessly on any device.  The *Managing Stress* section features a check box interaction as well as an interactive tab that allows users to explore additional content. Finally, the quiz showcases several different question types.

  • Why – many faculty are asked to develop and teach a course without the adequate resources (For example – time, support services) needed to acclimate them to online instructional design. This comprehensive resource guide as a tool for educators to make the online course design & delivery process more efficient and effective.

The high quality images are a great compliment to the existing content and users reported how great the entire presentation looked and how helpful the content was. There are many different examples of interactivity presented here including sorting activities, accordion displays and tabbed features for displaying content.

Creative Commons Overview

  • Where – the project is online
  • Why – to provide a quick overview for undergraduate online students
  • Other – this project was created based on a need for students that didn’t have an understanding of Creative Commons. This turned out to be a great resource that could be referenced over and over again as needed. While more detail about the different licenses could have been provided, the users reported that this overview was beneficial and met their needs. This overview was a complimentary piece to a much more detailed presentation on Creative Commons.
